EduTech is going to be sunsetting its web-hosting services to K12. That means that we will have to find some other way for our school to have a website/online presence.
EduTech notified us that many schools have already migrated to other services. It is their “preference to retire these services by August.”
Several North Dakota K12 public schools have chosen Apptegy as their web hosting service because “it’s everything in your pocket . . . Documents, Events, Staff Directory, Alerts, Etc.” However, the setup cost is about $8,000, and the annual cost runs about $8,000 as well. The Apptegy company does most of the designing.
We are looking at some less-expensive options:
- Continue using WordPress as our web design software, paying WordPress about $15 per month. All design, HTML coding, etc. is done by us (Mrs. Bender)
- Upgrading to an application that includes some expert design features and hosting as well as alert features. Campus Suite is an application used by Dickinson Public Schools and Jamestown Public Schools. Its price would be about $2,800 per year for us (with a waiver of the setup fee).

- Using an application with fewer “bells and whistles” like School Blocks. Their cost for us would be about $700 a year. Dakota Prairie School uses School Blocks.
